Contribute to The YES WE CAN PROJECT
The YES WE CAN Project was born on March 4th, 2009 as an Oregon Not for Profit Corporation. A 13 person Board of Directors was appointed in early March.
It is intended that the Project will be granted IRS 501 (c) (3) tax exempt status and that contributions made to the Project will be tax deductible.
Our submission to the IRS will take several months to complete and thereafter could take six to nine months for IRS approval.
If the IRS approves our tax exempt status (and ability for contributors to make tax deductible donations) any contribution made as of the incorporation date will be tax deductible subject to the general rules for tax deductible contributions. However, if for any unforseen reason the IRS does not grant us 501 (c)(3) status, contributions will not be tax deductible (but they will have gone to a good cause). We can not assure you that the IRS will approve our request for tax exempt status although we believe it should be granted.
